FC 27 introduces two systems that completely change how you should think about your Player Items: FUT Gallery and Streamlined SBCs. The interesting part is that they are not separate systems. Both use Item Score, while Gallery also keeps a permanent record of eligible cards that have passed through your club.

This creates a simple opportunity for smart club management: one card can contribute to your Gallery collection first and then become useful as SBC fodder later.

Instead of immediately submitting every duplicate, you should check whether the card has additional value in your Gallery before sending it into an SBC.

Register Cards Before You Submit Them

The most important rule is simple: Gallery comes first, SBC comes second.

When an eligible Player Item passes through your club, it can become part of your Gallery history. You do not need to keep the card permanently. If you later sell it or submit it into an SBC, its Gallery record can remain available. EA also confirms that an eligible Item can count toward future Gallery Sets even after it leaves your club.

That means you should avoid rushing to submit valuable duplicates.

First, check whether the card has already been registered and whether it can improve one of your Gallery Sets. Once its Gallery value has been secured, you can consider using it as SBC fodder.

This creates a useful two-step cycle:

Acquire → Register in Gallery → Improve Set → Sell or Submit → Continue Progress

Item Score Connects Both Systems

The reason this strategy works so well is that Gallery and Streamlined SBCs share the same Item Score system.

Every Player Item receives an Item Score based on factors including OVR, Rarity and Holographic status. Streamlined SBCs use that score toward their required target, while Gallery uses Item Score when determining the quality of a Set.

So a high-rated card can have two different types of value.

It can help push a Gallery Set toward a higher Grade, and later provide a large amount of Item Score for a Streamlined SBC.

This makes certain cards more valuable than their market price might suggest, particularly when they can activate a useful Gallery Tag.

First Owner Cards Deserve Extra Attention

First Owner Items are especially useful because they can contribute to the First Owner Tag in Gallery.

A Transfer Market purchase can still become part of your Gallery, but it does not provide the First Owner benefit. Cards obtained directly through packs, Objectives, SBC rewards and other eligible sources can therefore have additional collection value.

This does not mean every First Owner card should be kept forever.

Instead, check its Gallery position before submitting it.

If a First Owner card is the final piece needed to improve a Set, keeping it temporarily may be more valuable than immediately using it for an SBC. Once you have secured the relevant Gallery progress, you can reassess the card.

Buy, Register, Then Sell

The Transfer Market can also be used as part of this strategy.

Suppose you need a particular player to complete a Gallery Set. You can purchase the eligible card, register it in your Gallery, and later sell it if you no longer need it.

The important point is that the Gallery record can remain after the card leaves your club.

This means you do not always have to choose between collecting and maintaining your squad.

You can temporarily acquire cards for Gallery purposes, record them, and then recover part of your investment by selling them. Transfer Market tax and price fluctuations still need to be considered, so this should be done selectively rather than with every card.

Use One Card for Multiple Gallery Sets

Another major advantage is that the same Player Item can count toward multiple compatible Gallery Sets.

For example, one eligible player could contribute to a club-based Set and a rarity-based Set. You should therefore check your Gallery before selling or submitting a card that fits several categories.

This is where the double-use concept becomes even stronger.

A single card can help:

Gallery Set 1 → Gallery Set 2 → Gallery Level → Streamlined SBC

You are not literally submitting the same physical card multiple times. Instead, its recorded Gallery history can continue providing collection value while the physical card is eventually used elsewhere.

When Should You Submit the Card?

Do not automatically send every registered card into an SBC.

Ask yourself three questions first:

Has the card already been recorded in my Gallery?
Can it improve another Set or activate a Tag?
Is the SBC reward worth more than keeping the card?

If the answer to the first two questions is yes, finish your Gallery work first.

If the card has little remaining Gallery value and provides useful Item Score, a Streamlined SBC becomes a more logical destination.

Combine Gallery Progress With SBC Rewards

The best routine is to progress through both systems at the same time.

After opening packs, check your Gallery first. Register newly acquired cards and see whether they improve existing Sets. Then inspect your Streamlined SBCs and identify duplicates that can be safely submitted.

Do not submit your entire club at once.

Keep useful First Owner cards, high-value special Items and players that can significantly improve a Gallery Set. Use ordinary duplicates and lower-value fodder for SBC progress when appropriate.

FC 27 rewards players who think about their cards in more than one way.

A Player Item is not simply a squad player or SBC fodder. It can also be a Gallery entry, a Set upgrade, a Tag activator and a future source of Item Score.

Register first. Improve your Gallery. Sell or submit later.

Once you make that habit, you can work toward Gallery Levels and Tokens while simultaneously clearing duplicates and completing Streamlined SBCs. Instead of choosing between the two systems, make them work together.
