How to Get and Use Cosmetics in Grow a Garden

coolyou September 20, 2025 0

Cosmetics in Grow a Garden are decorative objects that players can place in their gardens. They were first introduced in Update 1.07.0, during the Lunar Glow Event.

Cosmetics serve no essential gameplay purpose, but they allow players to customize their gardens in creative and unique ways. They can be obtained primarily through the Cosmetics Shop, event rewards, or crates.

Cosmetics may not directly boost your harvest, but they let you showcase creativity and build a garden that feels truly your own. Whether you’re unlocking rare items from crates, redeeming codes for special decorations, or arranging benches and fountains, every cosmetic adds personality to your farm. And while you experiment with designs, don’t forget that you can also buy Grow A Garden pets to bring even more life and charm to your world.

How to Get Cosmetics in Grow a Garden

1. Buy Cosmetics from Sam

With the Farm Cosmetics Update, a new shop run by Sam was added to one side of the island. Sam sells nine different cosmetic items at a time, refreshing every four hours. Players can spend 79 Robux to restock instantly.

Some items include crates, which are expensive but contain random cosmetics. For example, the Sign Crate costs 55 million Sheckles and contains six possible sign cosmetics—but you only get one per crate.

2. Get Exclusive Cosmetics From Events

Certain events in Grow a Garden provide unique or limited-time cosmetics. For instance:

  • The Monster Mash Event rewarded players with the Monster Mash Potion Trophy.
  • The Twilight Shop sometimes sells cosmetics crates at night, such as the Twilight Crate (120 million Sheckles).
  • Seasonal or holiday events often include crates or cosmetics tied to their theme.

How to Use Cosmetics

Once you own a cosmetic, you’ll need to place it in your garden:

  1. Open the cosmetics inventory by clicking the overlapping hammer and wrench icon in the top left of your screen.
  2. Select an item and place it in your farm.
  3. Click the cosmetic again to open the adjustment menu with five tools:
ButtonFunction
Move (four arrows)Drag to move the cosmetic. Rotation resets when moved.
Tilt (up/down)Adjusts the angle of the cosmetic forward/backward.
RotateSpins the cosmetic around.
Tilt (left/right)Tilts the cosmetic sideways.
StoreReturns the cosmetic to your inventory.

Crates function differently—they must be equipped from the gear tab of your backpack and placed on a farm plot. Like eggs, they take time to open.

What Do Cosmetics Do?

Most cosmetics in Grow a Garden are purely decorative. However, some provide special effects or advantages:

  • Pancake Stack – Attracts a pet for 3–6 seconds occasionally.
  • Fall Fountain – Applies the Fall mutation.
  • Cooking Pot/Cauldron/Kit – Gives the Gorilla Chef a ~5% chance to duplicate cooked items.
  • Jump Pad & Bouncy Mushroom – Move or affect the player when interacted with.

Despite this, cosmetics are mainly a creative outlet, letting players design unique farms, build obbies, or even craft floating islands above their land.

Trivia
